Other Partners

Human Rights in Education is supported by a range of groups and organisations committed to human rights-based education in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Initiative was originally launched by Amnesty International, the Children’s Commissioner, Development Resource Centre, Human Rights Commission and the Peace Foundation – known as ‘the sponsoring organisations’. Each of these organisations continue to contribute to HRiE in various important ways.

Human Rights in Education also relies on the generous contributions of other funding partners, such as the J R McKenzie Trust.

The Human Rights in Education initiative benefits greatly from collaboration with the following partners in other countries:

Cape Breton University Children's Rights Centre (Nova Scotia, Canada)

Hampshire County Council's Rights, Respect, Responsibilities programme (UK)

Unicef UK's Rights Respecting Schools Award
